Let's be honest - there's only so much you can learn about an individual before you meet them in person. When it comes to researching real estate agents, there are three primary factors most people consider:
- Is he/she competent? Obviously, you want your agent to be more than capable of foreseeing and handling any situation that may arise during your real estate transaction, but to what extent can you really know? You learn this, to a small degree, by reading through the unique content the agent posts to their website and blog (in my case, I focus a lot on buying, investing and selling Walnut Creek homes). You also learn some of this through the recommendations and testimonials that their past clients provide - take, for example, this out-of-state investor I worked with.
- WHY is he/she in the real estate business? Some agents are simply trying to make a quick dollar. Unnecessary price reductions and weak negotiating skills are what they typically provide. I, on the other hand, am in it because I feel you deserve better than this. I believe in challenging the status-quo, in thinking creatively and in acting differently. I believe you deserve what SPARRproperties has to offer.
- Will I enjoy working with this agent? Buying or selling real estate can be a long and stressful situation to endure. Do you really want to go through this having your hand held by someone that you don't get along with? Of course not! Wouldn't it be nice if you could at least get a little sense of what their personality is like before you commit to meeting them in person? Well, maybe you can...
